Important Note on Altitude and Health
This is a demanding high-altitude trek involving a rapid ascent to more than 4,300 metres within a short period.
For this reason, we do not recommend the 3-day Wagagai Peak itinerary for most trekkers. Rapid altitude gain can increase the risk of altitude-related illness, including acute mountain sickness (AMS), which may cause headaches, nausea, dizziness, and breathing difficulties.
The rapid ascent also places considerable physical demands on the trekking team and porters carrying supplies and equipment.
We strongly recommend choosing the 4-day Wagagai Peak trek for better acclimatization and a more comfortable mountain experience. The additional day allows for a more gradual ascent and gives you more time to enjoy the mountain.
Choose a slower ascent, allow time to acclimatize, and give yourself more opportunity to enjoy Mount Elgon.

Why Choose This Trek?
The 3-day Wagagai Peak trek takes you through some of Mount Elgon’s most diverse landscapes, from community trails and Nabunyifu Falls to montane forest, bamboo, heathland, and high-altitude alpine terrain.
The journey also offers an opportunity to experience the cultural heritage associated with Masaba Summit and the Bamasaba and Gisu people while exploring the spectacular scenery of Mount Elgon.
Reaching Wagagai Peak at 4,321 metres provides a memorable high-altitude trekking experience. However, because of the rapid altitude gain, this itinerary is physically demanding and requires careful consideration of acclimatization.
For most trekkers, the 4-day option is recommended to allow a more gradual ascent.
Book your 3-Day Trek to Wagagai Peak and experience the forests, waterfalls, alpine landscapes, cultural heritage, and spectacular mountain scenery of Mount Elgon National Park.
