Good to know
- The coast you stay on shapes your beach days: the north swims at any tide, while the east coast empties at low tide.
- Serengeti and Kilimanjaro are on the mainland, so they are separate trips from a beach stay.
- Dress modestly in Stone Town, a largely Muslim town.
